The need to recycle correctly to conserve the natural environment, in which there are many tourist resources, is one of the objectives of the environmental awareness project "Clean Roads. Green Future" that the association for the development of Las Vegas Altas del Guadiana (ADEVAG) launches, focused on the Mozárabe Way of Santiago that runs through several towns in the region.Clean path, green future! the natural environment

A project that is included within the so-called “SEMTAYR”, through which we are cooperating with the local action groups of the regions through which the Mozárabe Way of Santiago passes for its promotion and enhancement, as explained Valentín Pozo, president of ADEVAG. An awareness project that the entity channels through the leisure and free time association Minerva, with which to raise awareness among the population about the need to care for and conserve the environment, especially on the Camino Mozárabe, which is another tourist resource for the region. In short, the aim is to consolidate it as a resource for pilgrims to use this route to reach Santiago.

An environmental awareness project that also seeks, Pozo emphasizes, "to bring the Mozárabe Way itself closer to the inhabitants of the region, whom many only know by hearsay, and to raise awareness of the importance that this resource has and that in the future it will be a tourist resource and will have a positive impact on the region in services, accommodation, gastronomy; ultimately generating an economy."

This awareness project adds Pozo, it is developed mainly through workshops and will conclude with a hiking route between Medellín and Santa Amalia.

For her part, Miriam Gutiérrez, ADEVAG technician, expresses that what it is about is holding recreational workshops "Clean Roads. Green Future", in schools, senior centers, women's associations and centers for people with disabilities in the towns through which the Camino runs. They start next week.

Regarding the hiking route, Gutiérrez adds that in a few days the date of completion and registration period to participate in it will be announced.
