Young Protagonists: The Association of Municipalities of the Camino Promotes Youth Participation in Navarra
Pamplona, Navarra. The Association of Municipalities of the Camino de Santiago (AMCS), based in Jaca and covering five autonomous communities of the French Way, has been selected to participate in the national meeting «Stimulating youth participation in Navarra». This relevant initiative, promoted by the KAEBNAI entity under the Erasmus+ Youth program, is celebrated from June 28 to July 5, 2025 at the Fuerte del Príncipe Sports Residence in Pamplona.
The event brings together more than 40 young leaders from associations across the country, along with key figures in youth policies. The main objective is to equip them with innovative tools to enhance their active participation in Europe. Through presentations, workshops, exchange laboratories and resource banks, collaborative learning and the design of strategies that will strengthen youth involvement are encouraged.

The Camino de Santiago: A Space of Transformation and Commitment
The AMCS is represented at this meeting by Sandra Martin, project technician of its technical secretariat. Martín has shared the main lines of work of the association and its most recent projects, generating notable interest among attendees. The fascination focused especially on the role of the Camino de Santiago as a space for encounter, transformation and commitment. Its potential to promote heritage, sustainability and volunteering among new generations was highlighted.
One of the highlights of the AMCS participation was the presentation of the program «University Walking Community». This program, which will celebrate its second edition of August 16 to 30, 2025, offers fifteen young people between 18 and 30 years old a unique opportunity: to walk the Camino while participating in training, environmental and support activities for local entities. In this way, the rich experience of the Camino is integrated with a deep social and educational dimension.
With its active participation in this meeting, the AMCS reaffirms its firm commitment to youth, considering them essential agents for the present and future of the Camino de Santiago and the territories that comprise it. The association is firmly committed to associationism as a vital tool to promote interterritorial cooperation, strengthen heritage roots and ensure the active involvement of new generations in the construction of a more sustainable and supportive Jacobean model.
