A Merry-Go-Round Surprises at the Obradoiro: Commercial Boost in the Historic Center of Santiago

Pedestrians who passed through the emblematic Praza do Obradoiro in Santiago de Compostela this Wednesday encountered the unexpected installation of a merry-go-round, near the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos. Although the city is not in full festivities, the reason for this carousel is a commercial revitalization campaign in the historic center.

The initiative, promoted by the Compostela Monumental Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs with the collaboration of the City Council of Santiago, the General Directorate of Commerce and Tourism of Galicia and the Deputation of A Coruña, seeks to stimulate sales of businesses in the old area throughout the month of April.

The campaign consists of rewarding purchases over 15 euros in any business in the historic center with a ticket for children to enjoy a ride on the merry-go-round. The attraction will be installed in Praza do Obradoiro from Friday, April 11 to May 4.
