“Disconnect on the Road” celebrates its fourth edition. This initiative organized by the Aspe Town Hall, through his Department of Health, is a healthy leisure program aimed at young people between 16 and 18 years old. This project seeks to offer a unique experience traveling the Jacobean route during the Easter week, accompanied by a team of psychologists, educators and experts in the field Camino de Santiago.
The main objective of this initiative is to encourage mutual support among participants, while completely disconnecting from the use of electronic devices and social networks.
The activity will take place from April 12 to 17, 2025, Holy Week period, and is aimed at young people over 16 years of age. “Disconnect on the Camino” is subsidized. Gonzalo Soria, promoter of the project, in which he is accompanied Orlando García, psychologist; and Vanessa Elvira, educator; wanted to highlight the importance of understanding the meaning of this project, since “It is not for cell phone addicts, it is for people who sometimes make harmful use of it and social networks.”
“We work a lot through group therapies on the kids' self-confidence, how social networks affect them, their daily lives and we put them to the test a little. The good thing is that a few hours after starting the journey they no longer remember their cell phone.", emphasizes Soria.
The registration period ends next February 6, after which, interested parties must undergo a subsequent selection process based on factors such as the time of use of electronic devices and other issues related to digital habits.
Next, we leave you with the interview that we maintained with the promoter of “Disconnect on the Camino”, Gonzalo Soria.
