The Road from Paris: The Camino de Santiago continues to expand its presence internationally after the signage of the route route through the center of Paris, specifically in the section that connects the Villette and Notre Dame. In this way, the capital of France now has all the signaling indicators of the Jacobean route.
As detailed by the Xunta, the ceremony of placing the bronze scallops was celebrated this Sunday with a walk that started from Parc de la Villete and ended on the Île de la Cité, the island of the Seine where the Notre Dame Cathedral is located.
The person in charge of placing one of the bronze scallops was the mayor of Paris-Center, Ariel Weil, and subsequently an event took place with different authorities at the Flower Market.
This initiative came from the French association Compostelle 2000, chaired by Martine Souris, is an association created in 1998 and it is worth noting that in 2018 it received the Elías Valiña Award, awarded by the Xunta, for its promotion of the values of the Caminos de Santiago.
