The English Way points out ways: Galicia hopes to surpass the record of pilgrims in 2025, despite initial fluctuations
The Xunta de Galicia maintains positive expectations for 2025, projecting a possible increase in the influx of tourists and pilgrims compared to the previous year.
However, the data for the first quarter of the year show a varied trend, with figures that, together, do not equal the results of the same period in 2024.
In the specific case of the Camino Inglés, the information on the Pilgrim's Office reveals an overall decrease in travelers between January and April of this year compared to 2024. However, it is important to note that the route began the year with a notable performance, registering 158 pilgrims in January (22% more than the previous year) and 241 in February (36% more).
This positive trend was reversed in March, when 819 travelers completed the route from Curuxeiras, representing a decrease of 29%.
As a result, the overall balance for the English Way between January and April it is 1,218 pilgrims, which represents a 17% drop in influx.
