Fairway Santiago 2025: the great meeting that once again puts the Camino de Santiago at the center of the world
Santiago de Compostela once again became the heart of the Camino these days. Between November 9 and 11, the Fairway Santiago 2025, a forum that for ten years has brought together experts, institutions, companies and lovers of the Jacobean routes to talk about the present and, above all, the future of the Camino de Santiago.
This year, the meeting was held in the impressive City of Culture, which served as a setting for conferences, round tables, workshops and countless activities that filled the venue with ideas, projects and a lot of pilgrim energy.

A Path that grows… and needs to be taken care of
The central theme of this edition was tourism, a phenomenon that increasingly affects the Camino due to its growing international popularity. How to maintain its essence? How to balance the influx of visitors with local life and heritage conservation?
These were some of the questions that were put on the table and that generated very enriching debates.
Professionals from all over the world
Fairway once again demonstrated its international character: more than 200 brands related to the Camino and tour operators from 18 countries, which turned the event into a great meeting point to establish alliances and publicize projects.
The professional workshops were in full swing, with hundreds of meetings between operators, companies, accommodations, institutions and local agents. The Camino, once again, showed its incredible ability to unite people from all over the world.
Institutions and territories united by the same objective
The Xunta of Galicia highlighted the importance of continuing to move towards a sustainable tourism model, especially with an eye on the next Xacobeo 2027.
In addition, other Jacobean routes and territories also had their space, such as the Camino Lebaniego Foundation (Cantabria), which presented its cultural and heritage offer and reinforced its presence on the international pilgrimage map.
An open day for everyone
One of the most lively moments was Open Day, a day open to the public with workshops for all tastes, gastronomic proposals, family activities and even an exhibition dedicated to Elías Valiña, the visionary priest who created the famous yellow arrows that today guide millions of pilgrims.
Looking towards a more sustainable path
After three days of intense activity, Fairway Santiago 2025 left a clear feeling: the Camino is more alive than ever, but it also faces challenges that require dialogue, planning and collaboration.
The forum once again demonstrated that, when ideas and wills are brought together, it is possible to imagine a more sustainable Camino, more cared for and more prepared to receive future pilgrims.
