Coming together on the Camino: March 16, the Association of Friends of the Camino de Santiago in Ávila, will carry out the march from the capital of Toledo to Rielves, which in stages is being carried out along the Levante-Southeast Camino, which is the one that crosses the provinces of Toledo and Ávila among others, a route that crosses diagonally from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic in Santiago de Compostela.
In order to promote this route, this association has presented the Project: “Making pineapple”, which will be developed during the years 2025 to 2027, to enhance the Union and Brotherhood on the Camino and promote the Levante-Suerte Camino in view of the Xacobeo 2027.
With “Making Pineapple”, the objective is to promote UNION and BROTHERHOOD among the Pilgrims, Associations and Populations of the Camino de Santiago. For this, the Association of Friends of the Camino de Santiago in Ávila will be the link with the following actions:

Repartirán piñas personalizadas con un romance con alusión al encuentro, como símbolo de Unión y Hermandad, a todos los Peregrinos con los que coincidan en los Caminos.

Se hermanarán o harán encuentros con las Asociaciones que estén a su paso, entregándo la Piña de la Unión y Hermandad, diploma conmemorativo y lectura de romances.

Pedirán ser recibidos por las alcaldías de las poblaciones por donde pasa el Camino para explicar nuestro mensaje de Unión y Hermandad a través de los romances y donando un obsequio (Piña personalizada en un pedestal) como símbolo de Unión y Hermandad, promocionar la labor de las Asociaciones en el Camino.
Coming together on the Camino: In this way, this Association of Friends of the Camino de Santiago in Ávila, with a total of 75 pilgrims, will join the different associations that come out to meet them and on this occasion, the Provincial Council of Toledo will also join, and we will be received by the Deputy for Contracting and Heritage Mr. José Eugenio del Castillo Fernández-Pacheco, as well as the Mayor of Rielves. Mr. Vicente Romera and the Mayor of Novés Mr. Eduardo Muñoz Fernández, at 5 p.m. at the House of Culture of Novés.
Before this meeting, all the pilgrims, along with the mayors and deputies, will meet at 3 p.m., for a brotherhood meal at the Pupy de Novés restaurant.
All these events or actions will be graphically documented to publish them on social networks and promote the Levante-Southeast Camino de Santiago, with a character of Union and Brotherhood.
The intention will take them to the year Santo Jacobeo 2027, where all this documentation and motivation will be the basis for the event that will await them at the entrance to Santiago de Compostela.
