Welcome Tasting: Pontevedra Launches the “Mesa do Camiño” for Pilgrims
He Council of Pontevedra has launched a delicious initiative to connect the Portuguese Way with the local culinary wealth: the «Mesa do Camiño». The program, which seeks to energize the Gastroespazo del Mercado, opens this Thursday and will offer a welcome snack to pilgrims.
Local Chefs and Free Menus
Two chefs will be in charge of preparing and serving these tastings, with the aim of introducing the authentic flavors of Pontevedra to those who stop in the city.
The program will run for 29 days between this month of October and next month May. The menus will be free for walkers, driving renewed interest in the Mercado de Abastos, which has already experienced a "new life" with initiatives ranging from creative fairs to film festivals with tastings.

Requirements: Credential and Overnight
To access this gastronomic gift, pilgrims must meet two simple requirements that confirm their commitment to the city and the Camino:
- Present the credential Jacobean.
- Show that they are staying overnight in Pontevedra.
In this way, the city not only rewards the efforts of walkers, but also encourages local stays and consumption.
