The art of movement joins this weekheritage of the Camino de Santiagowith the arrival to Galicia of'Dance no Camiño',a traveling festival that will stop in Sarria, Portomarín and Santiago de Compostela on July 16, 17 and 18. The proposal, promoted by the Galician company SóLODOS and sponsored by the Xunta de Galicia, seeks to bring contemporary dance closer to spaces of historical and spiritual value along the French Way.
The seventh edition of the festival presents four unpublished pieces by companies from Spain and Taiwan, which explore universal themes such as fear of death, connection with roots, introspection and waiting. Among them, the work “Onde pousa a humidade” stands out, by the Galician dancer Marcia Vázquez, this year's special guest.

Three emblematic scenes of the Camino
The Galician programming will take place in three symbolic enclaves of theCamino de Santiago:
Sarria:Wednesday, July 16, at 11:00 p.m., on Rúa Maior
Portomarin:Thursday, July 17, at 8:00 p.m., in Praza da Igrexa
Santiago de Compostela:Friday, July 18, at 8:00 p.m., in the San Martiño Pinario square
The selected spaces not only stand out for their heritage value, but also for the role they play as meeting points on the Xacobean route.
Four works that invite reflection
The artistic program for this edition includes the following creations:
“Kowaw,” a Taiwanese duo performed by Hsin-Hsuan Yu and Szu Shihmin, which addresses the fear of aging and death.
“Adama”, by the Andalusian choreographer Mario Bermúdez (Marcat Dance), a proposal for three dancers that connects with the roots and the earth.
“Asceta”, only by Chey Jurado from Extremadura, which represents the internal conflicts of a hermit in search of isolation.
“Onde pousa a humidade”, by Marcia Vázquez, inspired by the stories of the women of the Costa da Morte, who wait for the return – albeit symbolic – of their loved ones who disappeared at sea.
An artistic journey with an international vocation
'Dance no Camiño'It began on July 1 in Huesca and travels through 19 municipalities in eight provinces, with stops also in La Rioja, Burgos, Palencia, León, and will conclude its itinerary in Bilbao (July 20) and Burgos (July 21).
Since its creation in 2019, the festival has consolidated its objective of bringing contemporary dance to unique stages linked to theCamino de Santiago, expanding its reach and connecting international creators with diverse audiences.
With this edition, Galicia once again becomes the spiritual and artistic heart of the festival, offering the public a unique experience in which dance, heritage and the emotion of the Camino come together.
