The Mozarabic Way is valued: The Camino Limpio Futuro Verde program begins its second phase with recycling workshops in schools and senior centers in the towns through which the Camino Mozárabe runs in the Vegas Altas region. The initiative, framed within the SEMTAYR project and in collaboration with the local action group ADEVAG, aims to raise awareness about the importance of the cultural legacy, landscape and biodiversity linked to this pilgrimage route.
Miriam Gutiérrez, a technician from the Minerva Association, highlighted in Hoy por Hoy Vegas Altas the good reception of the project and announced that in April a route will be carried out along a section of the Mozárabe Way to continue promoting its knowledge and conservation. Every year, around 2,000 pilgrims cross this historic path, and initiatives like this seek to enhance its tourist and environmental value among the local population.
Regarding the “SEMTAYR” project, which includes this awareness-raising project, its main objective is to highlight and disseminate the Mozarabic Way as it passes through the region. To this end, work has been done to create a management, monitoring and virtual communication system to improve the pilgrim experience on the Camino de Santiago, specifically Vía de la Plata-Camino Mozárabe.
It is a resource that highlights this stretch through which a large number of pilgrims pass each year, collecting all the information you need as you pass along this Way, from heritage and cultural information to services. A project that has both common and individual actions; Among which are the evolution of the brand, work is also being done on the launch of the web platform “Observatorio Camino de Santiago Vía de la Plata-Camino Mozárabe”, an APP, as well as a communication plan, among others.
