Low Caves Raise the Largest Arrow in Spain to Mark the Mozarabic Way of Santiago
LOWER CAVES, MÁLAGA – The municipality of Lower Caves, located north of the Antequera region, has left an indelible mark on the Mozarabic Way of Santiago by installing the largest arrow in Spain on this Jacobean route. With an impressive length of 50 meters, this structure not only serves as a guide for pilgrims, but has also become an emblem of the town's commitment to rural tourism, heritage and connection with the essence of the Camino.

The mayor, Manuel Lara, has defended this initiative as another step in the promotion of sustainable tourism. According to the councilor, in Cuevas Bajas the traveler can find "calm, authenticity and human warmth." For the municipality, the arrow represents "immense pride and another step in the commitment to sustainable tourism, cultural heritage and the revitalization of our rural world."
The gigantic arrow is located at a strategic point along the route, acting as a beacon that invites walkers to stop and rediscover one of the oldest pilgrimage routes with the greatest historical value in the world. The installation not only guides pilgrims, but also serves as a powerful declaration of intent, reaffirming Cuevas Bajas' commitment to the values of the Camino and its development as a reference destination on this route.
