The Civil Guard presents the Jacobea 2025 security plan: This morning the comprehensive security plan “Jacobea 2025” developed by the Civil Guard for the province of León within the scope of its territorial demarcation was presented in the town of Arcahueja (León). The event was attended by the delegate of the Government in Castilla y León and the general chief of the Civil Guard of Castilla y León, as well as the mayor of the Valdefresno City Council and the lieutenant colonel chief of operations of the Civil Guard Command of León
The aforementioned plan for the “Camino de Santiago” includes for surveillance different units belonging to the León Command, among which are (Citizen Security, Mobile Pilgrim Assistance Office (OMAP), Seprona, Cynological Service, helicopter of the León Air Unit, Traffic Group, USECIC, GREIM), as well as two RPAS (Remotely Controlled Aircraft System). Through the use of these devices (drones), more immediate aerial surveillance will be carried out in different sections of the Camino, completing the support given to ground units.
JACOBEA SECURITY PLAN 2025:
With this reinforcement in the security device that the León Command keeps active throughout the year, the presence of uniformed patrols is increased in public transport terminals, roads, communication or transit nodes, accommodations, etc..., as well as on the routes of the Camino that run through the territorial demarcation of the Corps.
Surveillance will also be increased to prevent damage related to the historical, artistic and cultural heritage of the Camino, the alteration of the signage of the Jacobean route, the prevention and conservation of nature and the environment, the protection of critical infrastructures and guarantee road safety. Public security will be prioritized in the most depopulated areas of the province within the framework of the “Plan to Promote the operational response to the Demographic Challenge.”
