Two pilgrims complete the Camino Inglés in one go, without stopping to sleep, in an extreme physical and mental challenge that is already going around the Camino
There are stories that seem impossible... until someone makes them come true.
That is exactly what Alberto Baltar and Paula Criado have achieved: travel the Camino Inglés from Ferrol to Santiago without sleeping, in a challenge that has left many pilgrims with their mouths open.
More than 100 kilometers… without closing your eyes
The challenge was clear: leave Ferrol and reach Santiago in one go.
And they did it.
They left at night and arrived at Praza do Obradoiro about 42 hours later, completing more than 100 kilometers practically without rest. They only made small stops to eat, but at no time did they allow themselves to sleep.
A challenge that goes far beyond the physical.
A completely different path
While most pilgrims divide this route into several stages, they opted for a radically different experience.
No long pauses.
No sleep.
No room for error.
A way of living the Camino that completely changes the perception of effort and time.

From limit to pride
The challenge was not easy. A third companion who had started with them had to abandon before finishing the route.
But Alberto and Paula continued.
And they arrived.
Exhausted, yes, but with that unique feeling that is only achieved when you have given everything to the end.
A challenge that opens debate
This type of experience does not leave anyone indifferent.
There are those who see it as an admirable feat.
And there are those who believe that it moves away from the spirit of the Camino.
But the Camino has always been that: freedom.
Freedom to live it as each one wants.
The Camino as a mirror
Beyond the challenge, this story leaves a clear reflection.
The Camino is not a closed formula.
There is no single correct way to do it.
Some seek peace.
Others, improvement.
And others, discover how far they can go.
Because in the end, the Camino is not only traveled…
It also tests you.
