Noia will host a meeting of experts to promote the Camino de Santiago
The municipality of Noia will be the scene of a meeting of experts on the Camino de Santiago that will aim to analyze the present and future of the different Jacobean routes, as well as reinforce their promotion and conservation.
Specialists in heritage, tourism and territorial planning will participate in the meeting, as well as representatives from different administrations and entities linked to the Jacobean field. The meeting will serve as a forum for exchanging experiences and good practices related to the management of routes to Compostela.
One of the central points of the debate will be Path to the Ría de Muros and Noia, a variant that has experienced notable growth in recent years and is presented as a less crowded alternative to traditional tours. The experts will analyze its tourist and cultural potential, as well as the necessary measures to guarantee its sustainability and correct signage.
During the day, issues such as improving pilgrim services, protecting the natural and heritage environment, and the need for greater coordination between the municipalities through which the routes run will also be addressed.
The Noia City Council highlighted the importance of hosting this type of meetings, considering that they place the municipality as a reference within the Jacobean map and contribute to boosting the local economy through cultural tourism.
The meeting is part of the preparatory initiatives for the next Xacobeo , with the aim of consolidating the Camino de Santiago as a cultural and economic engine for Galicia and guaranteeing its international projection.
