The Obradoiro Square Santiago de Compostela is preparing to receive one of the most inspiring pilgrimages of the year. A group of 13 patients with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), accompanied by a support team and members of the Civil Guard, will complete the Camino de Santiago this Wednesday.

This initiative, known as CompostELA, seeks to demonstrate that, despite the severe limitations of the disease, personal improvement is possible. The 70 members of the group, who began their journey on September 4, have traveled more than 150 kilometers from O Cebreiro along the French Way.
During the six days of walking, they have not only faced the usual challenges of the terrain, such as crossing the inaccessible bridge over the Catasol River and the rain, but also the specific barriers for people in wheelchairs, both on the path and in the accommodations. With their arrival, they vindicate their strength and ability to face this great challenge.
