Pilgrims through Cantabria promote Camino Joven 2026 with the support of Jacobean institutions and entities
Diego Movellán, Chema Fernández and Valeriano Teja support an initiative sponsored by the Camino Lebaniego Foundation
The Güemes hostel will host the conference from June 19 to 21 Young Path 2026, an initiative promoted by Pilgrims through Cantabria which aims to bring the Camino de Santiago closer to new generations and transmit the values of hospitality, coexistence and solidarity that characterize the pilgrim phenomenon.
As reported The Montañés Diary, the presentation of this activity included the participation of Mayor of Camargo, Diego Movellán, who showed his support for a proposal that seeks to encourage the involvement of young people in the conservation and promotion of Jacobean heritage.
Among the organizers of the initiative are Chema Fernandez y Valeriano Teja, representatives of Pilgrims through Cantabria, an entity that leads this project with the intention of creating a meeting space where participants can discover the Camino from a human, cultural and experiential perspective.
For three days, attendees will take part in walks, group dynamics, workshops, coexistence activities and proposals aimed at strengthening the spirit of welcome and camaraderie that defines the Camino de Santiago.
The sessions have the official sponsorship of the Camino Lebaniego Foundation, whose support will allow the development of a program aimed especially at young people and focused on guaranteeing generational change within the Jacobean movement.
Besides, RTV Camino de Santiago will broadcast a large part of the scheduled activities in streaming, offering the possibility of following the event live through its website and its official application, thus bringing the experience closer to pilgrims and interested people from different places around the world. You can follow live from www.caminodesantiagortv.com and its application by downloading RTV CAMINO DE SANTIAGO from Google.

The meeting will take place at the emblematic Güemes hostel, a place deeply linked to the legacy of Ernesto Bustio, a benchmark of hospitality on the Camino del Norte and an example of dedication to those who travel the Jacobean route.
With Camino Joven 2026, Cantabria reinforces its commitment to promoting the Camino de Santiago and is committed to a new generation of pilgrims capable of keeping alive the values that have turned this experience into a universal symbol of encounter and fraternity.
