“Let's go to Santiago”, a children's book that brings the Camino de Santiago to the little ones
The Camino de Santiago adds a new literary work designed for the youngest readers. “Let's go to Santiago” It is the first children's book by its author after the publication of several works dedicated to the Jacobean route, and was born with the aim of bringing this ancient experience to children and families.

Although it is primarily intended for children, the book can also be enjoyed by all those people who maintain a special bond with the Camino de Santiago, either as regular pilgrims or as lovers of its history and cultural significance.
The story has as its protagonist Luis, a child who walks the Central Portuguese Way with his parents, since Porto to Santiago de Compostela. Throughout the story, the reader accompanies the family on their pilgrimage and discovers different aspects of the life of the Camino, such as the coexistence between pilgrims, the stay in the hostels and the encounter with some of the most emblematic places of this historic route.
The book describes in a simple and close way what the day-to-day life of a pilgrimage is like: the stages, the fatigue, the friendships that arise along the way and the small adventures that are experienced during the journey. All of this is narrated in accessible and immersive language, designed so that children understand and identify with the experience.
“Let's go to Santiago” seeks to transmit the spirit of the Camino de Santiago through values such as share, the self improvement and the respect for others, showing that the journey is as important as the goal. The work proposes a different way of knowing the Camino: not only as a historical or religious route, but as a human experience that can be learned from childhood.

The book will be officially presented in Tui on the 13th and in Santiago de Compostela on the 14th, two key places on the Jacobean itinerary. With these presentations, the author invites readers, families and lovers of the Camino to discover this new story that unites children's literature and pilgrimage.
“Let's go to Santiago” is thus presented as a tool for the little ones to approach the Camino de Santiago through reading, awakening curiosity about traveling, knowing and living together, and turning the Jacobean experience into a story that is close and understandable for all ages.
