The Camino Lebaniego Foundation promotes cultural and nature tourism with journalists from several countries

The Camino Lebaniego Foundation has reinforced its commitment to the international promotion of Cantabria by organizing a specialized press trip to publicize the enormous potential of the Camino Lebaniego as a destination for cultural tourism, nature, hiking and pilgrimage. The initiative brought together journalists, content creators and tourism sector professionals from countries such as Italy, Germany, Holland and the United States.

For several days, the participants toured some of the most emblematic places of the Camino Lebaniego and the Camino de Santiago del Norte, discovering the rich heritage, gastronomy and landscape of Cantabria. This tourist action seeks to position the region as one of the most attractive destinations in Spain for sustainable tourism and authentic experiences.

Santander, Liébana and Picos de Europa make international visitors fall in love

The itinerary included visits to Santander, Santillana del Mar, Comillas, San Vicente de la Barquera, Potes, Santo Toribio de Liébana and Fuente Dé. Attendees were able to enjoy hiking routes, rural experiences and tours linked to the historical and religious heritage of northern Spain.

One of the highlights of the trip was the visit to the Monastery of Santo Toribio de Liébana, considered one of the great centers of Christian pilgrimage in Europe. Furthermore, the natural environment of the Picos de Europa especially surprised international journalists, who highlighted the tranquility, authenticity and beauty of the Cantabrian landscape.

The Camino Lebaniego Foundation considers this type of promotional actions essential to attract new travelers interested in the Camino de Santiago, rural tourism, gastronomy, nature and hiking. Many of the participants will share reports and digital content about Cantabria in international media and social networks specialized in travel and cultural tourism.

The rise of sustainable tourism drives interest in the Camino Lebaniego

The growth of experiential tourism and active tourism is favoring international interest in routes such as the Camino Lebaniego. More and more travelers are looking for destinations where they can combine culture, sports, historical heritage, spirituality and disconnection.

Cantabria is consolidating itself as one of the great references for nature tourism in Spain thanks to the combination of sea, mountains, historic towns and pilgrimage routes. With this new international campaign, the Camino Lebaniego Foundation continues to promote Cantabria as a unique destination to discover authentic experiences, spectacular landscapes and some of the most important pilgrimage routes in Europe.
