RTV Camino de Santiago exceeds 20 million

RTV Camino de Santiago exceeds 20 million

Twelve years after beginning this adventure, RTV Camino de Santiago exceeds 20 million and faces a new stage with more projects, more internationalization and the same intention with which it was born: to tell the Camino from the inside, listen to those who make it possible and give a voice to pilgrims, associations, hospital workers, towns and projects from anywhere in the world.

There are figures that are used to boast and others that are used to remember everything that has happened until reaching them. For us, overcoming the 20 million It clearly belongs to the second group.

Twelve years have passed since RTV Camino de Santiago He started walking. Since then we have told thousands of stories, we have met pilgrims from dozens of countries, we have accompanied projects, associations, shelters, cultural initiatives, events, happy moments and also difficult ones. We have seen how the Camino changed and, at the same time, how our way of telling it changed.

That is why we do not want to turn this moment solely into a celebration of RTV Camino de Santiago. We want to turn it, above all, into a huge thank you.

Twelve years telling the Camino from within

RTV Camino de Santiago was born in 2014 with a fairly simple idea: the Camino needed a medium capable of talking about it throughout the year and not only when the numbers of pilgrims became news.

We wanted to tell what was happening on the routes, but also what was happening behind them. The people who paint arrows, those who open a shelter, the associations that organize activities, the small towns, the human stories, the heritage that needs protection and those anonymous pilgrims who often star in the best stories.

Twelve years later we still think exactly the same thing.

The Camino is not only kilometers to Santiago. It is an immense community of people and territories that deserves to be heard.

Thank you to all of you who walk with us

If we have come this far it is because behind every publication there is someone on the other side.

Thank you to those who enter our website every day.

Thanks to those who share news on Facebook, X, Instagram or WhatsApp.

Thanks to those who send us photographs from a stage.

Thanks to the hospitaleros who notify us of something important, to the associations that tell us about their projects, to the pilgrims who allow us to tell their stories and to those who simply write to tell us that you liked a piece of news or that you found some information useful.

RTV Camino de Santiago exists because that community exists.

And these 20 million are also yours.

We want you to send us your stories

From now on we want to open even more RTV Camino de Santiago to those who are part of the Camino.

If your association organizes an activity, if your town prepares something related to the pilgrimage, if you know a human story that deserves to be told, if you have encountered a problem on a route or if you simply think that there is something interesting that we should know about, send it to us.

You can send us texts, photographs, videos, posters, calls and information to:

tvcaminodesantiago@gmail.com

You can also contact us at:

We cannot promise to publish absolutely everything, because we want to maintain editorial criteria and select what is really interesting, but we can promise something: we are going to look at it.

And many times the best stories of the Camino begin precisely with a message from someone who tells us: “I think this might interest you.”

The Camino no longer has borders

During these twelve years we have seen how the Camino de Santiago has definitively become an international phenomenon.

Today we are read and followed by pilgrims from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, France, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, South Korea, Ireland, China and many other countries.

That is why we are also strengthening our international strategy and publishing content in different languages when the story deserves it.

We don't just want to translate news.

We want to tell the Camino from the perspective of each country.

Because Santiago is in Galicia, but the Camino begins in thousands of places around the world.

The next challenge: young people

One of our big projects for the coming months looks precisely toward the future.

We are working on creating a World Youth Meeting linked to the Camino de Santiago, an initiative that we want to build around the values of the Camino, coexistence between cultures and the participation of new generations.

We firmly believe that young people have to enter more and more into the Jacobean universe.

Not only as pilgrims.

Also as volunteers, hospital workers, communicators, project managers and future members of the associations that have supported the routes for decades.

Very soon we will be able to tell more.

A new connection with China

Another path that we are beginning to explore is the approach to Chinese community of pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago.

We want to generate new bridges between associations, pilgrims and projects, bringing together two worlds that can share much more than it seems.

The Camino de Santiago is growing enormously in Asia and we believe that there is a magnificent opportunity to promote twinning, cultural exchange and new forms of collaboration.

The Camino has always served to unite people.

You can now also join continents.

A new YouTube channel will also arrive

The way we consume information has changed a lot since 2014 and RTV Camino de Santiago also has to continue evolving.

That is why one of the next projects will be the promotion of a new YouTube channel, with a greater commitment to video.

We want to tell stories.

Interview pilgrims.

Discover places.

Talk to hospital workers.

Show heritage.

Explain routes.

And get even closer to what is happening on the ground.

The web will continue to be our great information home, but we want image, radio, television and networks to work more and more together.

The best may not have happened yet.

Exceeding 20 million after twelve years may seem like a goal.

We prefer to consider it a stage.

A stop to look back, remember what we have traveled, thank those who have been there and put the backpack back on.

Because there are many projects left.

Many stories.

Many countries.

Many young people.

Many associations.

And probably thousands of people that we don't know yet but who will end up appearing one day on RTV Camino de Santiago.

Some will send us a photograph.

Others will star in an interview.

Maybe someone will write to us tomorrow to tell us a story that no one knows yet.

That is precisely the beautiful part of all this.

After twelve years, We still don't know what story we will find tomorrow.

Thank you for these twelve years

To those who arrived from the beginning and to those who discovered us yesterday.

To those who share our news and to those who simply read it.

To pilgrims, associations, hospitaleros, collaborators, institutions, towns and friends of the Camino.

Thank you.

Thank you for trusting RTV Camino de Santiago.

Thank you for sending us your stories.

Thank you for allowing us to tell yours.

And thank you, above all, for continuing to walk by our side.

We have surpassed 20 million, but there is still a lot of Camino left.

And some of our most important challenges are about to begin.
