Silao new international religious tourism route

Silao becomes the starting point of a new international religious tourism route

Silao is experiencing a historic moment full of meaning for faith tourism. The city was officially integrated into the International Religious Tourism Network, which makes it starting point of a new spiritual journey which promises to attract pilgrims and visitors from all over the world.

The municipal president, Melanie Murillo Chavez, announced this novelty during the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), one of the most important events in the sector globally. This incorporation not only strengthens Silao's presence on the map of religious tourism, but also boosts its international projection as a destination for meaningful experiences.

The new route will begin at parish of Santiago Apóstol, from where pilgrims can receive a passport that will be sealed at each stage of the journey. The initiative seeks for each stamp to represent not only a place visited, but an experience, a reflection and one more step on the path of faith that unites communities and traditions.

This itinerary includes emblematic places such as the Hermitage of Christ the King, where the martyrs of San Joaquín rest, and the Sanctuary of Christ the King, considered one of the most significant points for the faithful. From there it will continue through other municipalities such as Guanajuato capital, Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel de Allende, until connecting with the Basilica of Guadalupe, a destination revered by millions of pilgrims each year.

The municipal authorities highlighted that this route not only has enormous spiritual value, but also represents an opportunity for Silao and its region be discovered by those seeking trips with purpose, history and connection to their faith.

With this integration, Silao reaffirms its role as gateway to religious tourism, offering those who arrive not only landscapes and heritage, but also deep experiences that last in the heart.
