Angel is 30 years old. Ten ago, his life changed full. At 20 years old, like many other young people, he could not find his future. He saw himself lost in an environment that did not suit him, lack of motivation and a chain of weekends that always ended in problems. So, his head clicked and three days later the Camino de Santiago began. Now, his life has taken a 180 degree turn and his future is full of projects linked to what he likes most: cooking. In addition, he has founded a clothing brand that gives him "more joy" every day. Although not everything has been easy and he claims to have had "relapses", there was something that made him change, and "That something is God," he emphasizes.
«There is a point in my life when I went weeks without practically being able to sleep. It was just spinning in his head. I felt miserable and had a life that I didn't want," Ángel recalls in conversation with El Debate. At that time, as he himself says, "the only thing he did" was "get into trouble and go somewhere to beat himself up." “I entered a strange and quite negative loop,” he laments.
It was then when he decided to do the Camino de Santiago. "I decided one night and three days later I was doing it," he recalls. The now chef remembers that he had "very little money": «My budget did not reach 300 euros, counting the Blablacar which I had to take, which was about 150 euros. "I only ate one meal a day."
"The conversations with people were what marked me the most," he says, remembering to a woman that she had lost her husband and had promised him that she would do the Camino. "The first day he broke his toe and he kept doing it just to keep his promise," he says. That's when he realized that his "problems were nonsense": «My problems could be changed perfectly», recognized at that moment.
